Are the best business leaders “naturals” or are they products of their experiences? This has been debated for centuries, and I could argue either side with gusto.
In an article in Inc., Logan Chierotti writes: “estimates suggest that 30%-60% of leadership is heritable.” That leaves a big role for learning, i.e., nurture. In his book, “The Powers to Lead,” Joseph S. Nye says, “Nature and nurture intertwine, but nurture is much more important.”
Although learned opinions vary so widely, regarding “nature vs. nurture,” they seem to align that it is a combination of both.
