While January’s employment data initially showed a broadening of the sectors doubling down on hiring, February was a bit of a return to form as healthcare and government hiring took center stage again.

By the end of last year, three sectors—healthcare, government, and leisure and hospitality—were driving the vast majority of all job growth. That pattern reemerged in February’s employment data.

The healthcare sector added 67,000 jobs in February, according to the Labor Department. That compares with the average gain of 58,000 per month recorded over the last year.

Government employment rose by 52,000 in February, with local governments seeing the bulk of the gains. That’s on par with the monthly average gains seen over the past year.
