We are at an inflection point. People are burnt out. There have been tons of think pieces on quiet quitting and what it all means but it’s simple, people are drained. In the world of work, the new expectation of “always on” is not sustainable.
Organizational leaders need to think more deeply about this moment and understand the mindset of their employees and potential talent.
Recently a US task force proposed a recommendation to screen for anxiety in adults. We are seeing increased mental health issues, higher attrition from the workforce and/or industry, lower employee engagement globally and there is also the expectation that business will solve societal problems — all warning signs ahead, especially with a looming recession.
