Think there’s a correlation between a candidate’s years of experience and subsequent job performance? Think again.

Skim any list of job postings and nearly all will expect candidates to meet an experience requirement. For example, one study of over 95,000 job listings found that 61 percent required three or more years of experience — even though those jobs were entry-level positions.
