Growing up, I watched The Jetsons. It was set in 2062, and a lot of the tech that the show depicted now exists: flat screen video calls, smart home automation and robot assistants, to name a few. George worked three hours a day, mostly pushing buttons and supervising RUDI (Referential Unisonic Digital Indexer). George’s job was to provide human oversight for compliance and emergency intervention of an AI-driven information and control system. A role that is easily imaginable today but not fully realized … yet.
